SEEK | January 11th - 31st

From January 11th to January 31st, we invite you to intentionally give your time to God as we build the altar of the heart, home, church, and city together. This is an invitation to SEEK Him, HOST His presence, and HOST others, offering God something meaningful and costly (2 Samuel 24:24). As we dwell in His presence and gaze on His beauty (Psalm 27:4), we join in standing in the gap and building the wall on behalf of the land (Ezekiel 22:30).

He is Worthy, and it Matters.

We value being a worshiping and praying people not only because He is worthy of our worship, but because prayer matters. It's how we partner with God to see His will established in our hearts, homes, church, and city (region). We call these the four altars, sacred places of encounter where heaven meets earth and we experience God's presence, purpose, and power.

Four Altars

Our first and greatest motivation for prayer is that Jesus is worthy. Before we ever talk about what prayer accomplishes, we begin with who He is. We build altars of worship and prayer in our hearts, homes, church, and city/region because the Lamb that was slain is worthy of unceasing worship.

His worthiness isn’t measured by what He does for us, but by who He is in His nature, glory, and sacrifice. We are committed to declaring His worth at the heart level, in our homes, among our church, and together with our city/region.

Altar of the Heart

We believe that God wants to have us in full. fully given. fully surrender to the Lord’s leadership.

We pray to conform to the Image of the Son and that our lives would be a living sacrifice to him.

Altar of the Home

We believe that God moves in the midst of our families and desires to do a work in parents, siblings, and all other relatives.

We pray for our families to know Jesus and to be friends to all who call on the name of the Lord

Altar of the Church

We believe that God wants to use the church as a vehicle to accomplish His purposes on earth. that through a faithful gathering of believers, God’s plans go forth.

We pray that the church would be ready for the plans Jesus has for His bride. fully unified and ready to follow.

Altar of the Region

We believe that God wants to move in every region of the earth. That Jesus will be known on the earth, and that every tribe, tongue, and nation will sing to the Lord.

We pray for the word of the Lord to run swiftly and for Jesus to be glorified all across the earth.

“For revival to come, God’s fire must fall on four altars:

Heart, Home, Church, and Region.”

-Duncan Campbell, Hebrides Revival

How We Pray

At Boulder Street Church, we strive to make prayer an engaging, inviting, and impactful experience. Our prayer sets follow a simple 1-hour flow. This isn’t about filling time; it’s a value system to help us stay centered on Jesus, be transformed by His Word, and partner with Him in prayer.

We believe that everyone in a prayer meeting has something to contribute. Your history with God brings a special dimension or perspective to the meeting. We believe that everyone has a brick to build a resting place for the Lord. We hope each guideline will be a launching point for an encounter with Jesus, not strict rules to feel restricted in the prayer meeting.

  • I will tell of Your name to my brethren; In the midst of the assembly, I will praise You. - Psalm 22:22

DECLARE HIS WORTH (~20 minutes) Fix your eyes on Jesus by declaring who He is, exalting His name, and enjoying His presence.

    1. Begin by singing songs that focus on Jesus’ worth, value, and character.

    2. Around the 17-minute mark, shift into spontaneous worship:

    3. Sing your own words of worship to Jesus or sing in the Spirit (prayer language).

    4. Allow space to simply enjoy His presence.

  • 12 Blessed are You, O Lord; Teach me Your statutes. 13 With my lips I have told of all the ordinances of Your mouth. 14 I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, as much as in all riches. 15 I will meditate on Your precepts and regard Your ways. 16 I shall delight in Your statutes; I shall not forget Your word. - Psalm 119:12–16

DISCIPLED IN THE WORD (~20 minutes) Align your heart, mind, and life with the Scripture through prayer and song.

    1. Choose a short passage of Scripture.

    2. Read it slowly—maybe more than once—and give space for phrases to stand out.

    3. Turn those words into short sung prayers or simple choruses.

    4. Meditate on the passage.

    5. Return to a chorus or phrase often to stay centered on the Word.

    6. Invite the room to come up and pray to align their heart/lifestyles with the truths in scripture.

  • 6 And the Lord said, “Hear what the unrighteous judge said; 7 now, will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them? 8 “I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?” - Luke 18:6-8

DO HIS WORK (~20 minutes) Unite with Jesus in intercession for people, places, and purposes on His heart.

    1. Choose a topic or need to pray for (church, city, missions, etc.).

    2. Select a Scripture to guide your prayer. Utilize the prayer lists that will be provided.

    3. Read the passage and pray short prayers from it.

    4. Sing spontaneous choruses connected to the theme.

    5. Invite others to bring scripture to pray for the topic.

    6. Split up into pairs or groups.

    7. Close with a prayer to go out as a carrier of His presence. We believe prayer moves the obstacles.

One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to meditate in His temple. - Psalm 27:4
